The fourth annual Spike Out Sarcoma volleyball tournament is coming up, and this year is bigger and better than ever! The tournament will offer the chance for more teams to participate so we can make a bigger dent in the fight against sarcoma.
Event date: Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019
Location: King Louie’s
Time: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Registration opens: Monday, May 20, 2019 at noon EST (Register before Aug. 4 to receive a tournament t-shirt!)
REGISTRATION INFORMATION
REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED. We hope to see you and your family at the event to support the cause while enjoying raffles, kids’ activities, and more. While we do not anticipate allowing any more teams to join, we do have a waitlist. Please email us to join the waitlist and include the names of the players on your team. We will reach back out if availability opens.
Price: $35 per person (includes shirt)
How to complete the registration form:
Each captain must register for a 6-player team. If you plan on having more than 6 players, please add up to four “Additional Player” forms to your cart for a total of no more than 10 players per team.
You may not sign up as an individual; you must be a part of a 6-player team.
Please have all of your team’s information ready before submitting the form. This includes their names, email addresses and t-shirt sizes. Incomplete forms will not be considered valid.
Each team must have at least two women on the court at all times, so please build your team accordingly.
TOURNAMENT RULES*
This year’s tournament will be bigger and better than ever! Please read through the information below as we have adjusted our tournament rules this year.
There will be 32 team slots available to fill the bracket. Each team should consist of between six and ten players. If you plan to have more than six players on your team, please submit one team form and an individual player form (one per additional player). Standard volleyball rules apply – you can have up to six players on the court at a time. Your team must have at least two women on the court at all times.
We will have pool play followed by tournament play. Following seeding from pool play, there will be a single elimination tournament. Unlike pool play, the tournament will be match play scored 21-21-15. The winner of the match (best two out of three) will advance to the next round of the tournament.
When registering, you must rank your team’s skill level between the following three options:
Beginners (“A couple of us made the B-team during 6th grade volleyball try-outs.”)
Intermediate (“We dabble.”)
Advanced (“This ain’t our first rodeo.”)
Initial pool seeding will be organized by skill level (as balanced as possible).
The registrant for each team will be considered the team captain and will be responsible for relaying information to team members.
The winning team will receive their money back.
*Please note that tournament details are subject to change.
